Welcome from
Principal Moore

Thank you for your interest in Pearl Preparatory School. The Pearl staff and faculty appreciate the time and exhaustive research, you as concerned parents spend selecting an appropriate elementary school for your family.

Just as a pearl is a grain of sand from the right environment, we feel the home and school must work together as the two shells of an oyster, to prepare students for college and life.

We have built our school from the ground up to promote the positive, individual attention and wholesome environment that can tremendously alter the direction and motivation of a child.

We have carefully combined modern technologies with traditional values to create an atmosphere that says, "Which college should I attend, because I am going to make a difference in the world." We believe that the most important investment any family can make is not just in their child's education but in their child's attitudes towards God, our country, their future and themselves. We hope the accompanying information on our site will answer your questions about Pearl Prep school.

How to Enroll

  1. PICK UP AN APPLICATION - Applications are $50 each.
  2. SUBMIT A COMPLETED APPLICATION - Applications are due by the last day of each month.
  3. RECEIVE NOTICE TO SCHEDULE A STUDENT TEST/INTERVIEW - After a careful review of a completed application, potential students will be asked to attend a Test/Interview with the principal or one of the teachers. The Test/Interview will contain both oral and written questions and last thirty minutes to an hour depending on the age of the child.
  4. POTENTIAL CANDIDATES ATTEND A VISITATION DAY - Students applying for 1st through 5th grade can request or may be asked to attend a Visitation Day at Pearl, which are scheduled on regular Pearl school days. Students will be given an opportunity to be observed while participating in regular lessons and recesses.
  5. RECEIVE NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE - Applications will be accepted based on availability of openings in the class for which a student is applying. All notices of acceptance will be sent to the student’s attention. Notices of non-acceptance or waiting list notifications will be sent to the parent’s attention.
  6. PAY REGISTRATION - Accepted students hold their seats by paying a one time $200 non-refundable registration fee two weeks after they have received their notice of acceptance. This payment will reserve a student’s seat until August 5, 2017 when first semester payments are due. Once a student attends classes, $100 of the registration fee will become the student’s Book, Breakfast and Breakage Deposit. Unused portions of this $100 deposit will be returned after a student leaves the school.

FINANCIAL AID: Reduced tuition may be available to a limited number of students based on family need. Which students are selected to attend Pearl is not based solely on finances. Pearl strives to provide its students with the finest elementary teachers and total quality program. Therefore finance must be considered as part of the determination as to who will be accepted to the limited number of seats available in the school. Financial aid qualification is determined by School and Student Services by NAIS. A financial aid packet is available from the Pearl office or online at sss.secure.force.com/familyportal,

school code 6039. The "Help Line" for financial aid application questions is 800-344-8328. All financial aid applications are due April 1st in order to be reviewed by the financial aid committee that will determine the amount to be awarded.

Pearl is Looking For

Students Who…

•  score average to above average academically

•  desire to uphold a high personal level of conduct and have demonstrated good citizenship
•  focus on their studies
•  want a dynamic and comprehensive learning experience

Financial Information

TUITION: Pearl Preparatory School strives to provide the finest in elementary education at a fair and responsible price. The 2017-18 Tuition Worksheet gives the details on both the tuition costs and the various payment plans. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are accepted with an additional 3% surcharge to cover costs.

ACTIVITY FEE: Part of Pearl’s dynamic approach is to provide educational opportunities in different environments. This is accomplished through science camps and monthly field trips. These camp, trips and miscellaneous other expenses are paid for by the yearly activity fee. This fee varies depending on the activities each class has planned and is billed with tuition on the same payment schedule selected by the family. For the 2017-2018 year the activity fees will be $200 for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades, $250 for 3rd grade, $375 for 4th and 5th grade.

PEARL PREP FINANCIAL AID PROCESS

  1. Pearl Prep offers limited financial aid to those families who qualify. We are looking forward to making this year’s financial aid process as easy for families as possible. With that in mind, we’re participating in a technology adoption program with SSS by NAIS that represents good news for everyone involved. What that means to you is that the system where you apply for financial aid is changing but in a way that will dramatically improve your family experience. The new system is faster, more stable, and easier to use than what many of you have seen in the past.  To be more specific, this new system means:
  2. Help Along the Way. Throughout the system, you’ll find helpful tips and hints giving you step-by-step instructions along the way.
  3. A Faster and Easier Process for Uploading Documents. You’ll have much better visibility into your application process because you can now complete your application and upload the documents we require in one sitting. That means you can instantly see and go back and confirm that your documents have been received.
  4. White-glove customer support with a dedicated customer service number devoted only to the few schools participating in this program.
  5. It’s very important to note some changes to the way you may have applied for financial aid in the past:
  6. You will continue to apply online but NOT where you may have last year. The new unique URL for Pearl Prep financial aid applications is https://sss.secure.force.com/familyportal. The link is on the Pearl Prep website as well.
  7. Every family will need to CREATE an account one time for this new portal.  Please use the PURPLE box on the left side to create an account.  You will be asked for an email address -- IT IS IMPORTANT to continue to use the same email address you used with SSS in the past as this connects your history to the new site. You will also be asked to set up some security questions. You will receive an email with your new account password -- then you are ready to go! Once you have created an account - you will always log in on the right side GREEN box.
  8. Using your new account, you can apply NOW using the new PFS.  Our school code is #6039.
  9. If you have questions when completing your PFS, the new SSS customer support phone number is 800-844-2207.  For families outside of the United States and Canada, the phone number is 952-229-6667. You can also email SSS at ssspilot@nais.org.
  10. If you intend on mailing your additional tax documents to SSS rather than uploading them in the system, the new address is: 2014 Documents, P.O. Box 854, Randolph, MA 02368.
  11. For overnight Federal Express, UPS, AND Postal Services Express Mail, the address is 2014 Documents, Suite 101, 437 Turnpike Street, Canton, MA 02021.
  12. Families applying to both our schools (RHP & Pearl) and other schools, should not use this new system. In that case, you should still apply using the PFS found at http://sss.nais.org/parents. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this.
  13. Following your application, SSS may be in touch with you to survey your experience with the new system. We’d appreciate any feedback you have because it can only help further improve the process next year.
  14. Thank you for your assistance in this pilot program.  Please remember that we are accepting applications now and the priority deadline is April 1, 2017.
  15. If you plan to apply for a merit-scholarship, please ask for a form in the Pearl office and turn in the completed application by the priority deadline of April 1, 2017.
  16. If you have any questions about tuition and financial aid, please contact our Pearl Financial Aid officer - Mrs. Marla Hampton at 626-444-9531, extension 121.
