National Math Contest
Our 3rd, 4th & 5th graders will be competing in the Noetic Learning National Math Contest next Tuesday.  It is a problem solving test made up of all word problems.  The top students in each class will receive a medal.  Top students throughout the nation will be recognized online and get a chance to earn another medal.
Health Alert
I just wanted to alert everyone that we do have a "stomach virus" currently going around school.  Please make sure and encourage students to wash their hands frequently and if your child is feeling sick to their stomach, please keep them home as it seems to be highly contagious.
Coming Soon!
Panda Express
Pearl Fundraiser sponsored by PAL
Coming up on Wednesday, April 12th, Pearl will be having a family night out at Panda Express.  Anyone who brings a Pearl flyer in when they purchase either lunch or dinner that day between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. will earn 20% of their order as a donation to Pearl.  Proceeds are going to help upgrade our technology in the classrooms for next year. Thank you for your support!

Pearl Prep Open House
The Pearl Prep Open House event will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd.  Classrooms will be open from 6:30-8:00 p.m. All students are expected to attend with their families as they will have a check list to show off all their amazing work and projects they have been working on throughout the school year. Favorites each year are the baby chicks in kindergarten and the 3rd grade famous people costumes. The 5th grade will also be doing their business style Powerpoints. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Last week I attended the National Science Teachers Association conference in Los Angeles. It was a great experience with lots of cool science ideas. We look forward to adding a few new Science & Engineering Honors Electives next year.

Sincerely,
